The ships are often smaller in size, most rarely accommodating more than 200 travelers
River Cruise Lines
River Cruise Lines offer a slower pace of exploration and often attract a mature traveler. You will not see many families onboard, if any, as they do not offer much in the way of entertainment or kids areas. The excursions are included with the rates.
Luxury Cruise Lines
Luxury Cruise Lines are deluxe, ultra plush ships that range from megayachts to midsize ships. You can expect luxurious accommodations. They attract sophisticated travelers who seek all the comforts and amenities that you would expect to receive a five-star resort who like to travel to exotic locations to which luxury cruise lines tend to travel. Premium Cruise Lines
Premium Cruise Lines, although similar to mainstream cruise lines, offer a more refined atmosphere and provide service that is more attentive to the travelers onboard. The ships vary in size, ranging from midsize to large. The ships tend to attract a mix of passengers. However, you will find more families during school breaks, but generally attracts a slightly more mature crowd the rest of the year.
Mainstream Cruise Lines
Mainstream Cruise Lines are your more contemporary cruise lines. They attract the most amount of travelers among all the cruise styles. Offering something for everyone, mainstream cruise lines attract the most travelers and are ideal for families due to the kids programs they provide. Since they offer something for everyone, they are the best choice for those traveling in groups.
